Elio Rojas - Pianist
Elio Hernandez Rojas, better known as Elio Rojas, is a Cuban pianist and composer renowned for his dynamic performances that seamlessly blend Afro-Cuban rhythms, Latin jazz, European classical music, and Spanish flamenco. A First-Class Honours graduate from the University of the Arts in Havana, Elio has captivated audiences worldwide with his virtuosity, charisma, and distinctive musical voice.
In 2019, Elio relocated to Spain to further his studies, marking his international debut at the Teatro Principal de Alicantewith his own compositions and ensemble. His career has since flourished, leading him to perform at major international festivals and as a Headliner and Guest Entertainer on some of the world’s most prestigious cruise lines, including Royal Caribbean, Holland America, Azamara, Crystal Cruises, Silversea, P&O, Saga, Fred. Olsen, and Cunard.
Now based in London under the Global Talent Visa endorsed by Arts Council England, Elio continues to make significant contributions to the jazz scene, performing to sold-out audiences at leading UK venues such as PizzaExpress Jazz Club, Crazy Coqs, and Peggy’s Skylight, where he has presented tributes to influential Cuban jazz pianists and showcased his original works.
Elio’s performances are defined by his refined classical technique, deep sense of rhythm, and boundless creativity, transforming well-known pieces with his unique Afro-Cuban touch. His music pays homage to his roots while bridging cultures and genres — a captivating and fresh sound that resonates with audiences across the globe.
